Communications Officer; Researcher
Katja Fels joined the communications department of RWI as consultant for economic policy communication in July 2014. She concurrently works as researcher in the research group “Sustainability and Governance”.
Katja obtained her masters degree in Journalism and Political Science at Dortmund University and Ruhr-University Bochum in 2009. She moreover graduated from the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, in Economic Policy in 2008 (Graduate Diploma). In her thesis, she conducted an empirical analysis of behaviorally motivated interventions with respect to the communication of controversial reform ideas in Australia.
Next to her university education, Katja is a formally trained journalist (Volontariat). She worked for different media in Germany and abroad. She also held the position of press officer at Germany’s largest scholarship foundation, the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes), where she started as scientific officer in 2009.
