Dr. Jörg Peters

Dr. Jörg Peters studied economics and statistics in Cologne and Paris. Working for RWI and as consultant to the World Bank, he is a specialist in access to modern energy in developing countries and the evaluation of development interventions. In this context, Jörg is leading an international consortium that has been appointed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to evaluate development activities in the energy sector in five countries spanning Africa and Asia. Furthermore, Jörg designed the methodology of evaluation studies for rural electrification and improved stove dissemination projects in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Indonesia, Rwanda, Mozambique, Senegal, and Zambia. In addition, he is responsible for the methodological coordination of a joint GIZ/World Bank-research project on energy usage in micro-enterprises in rural Africa and managed the survey implementation of this study in Benin and Uganda. His research findings have been published in international journals such as Energy Journal, Journal of Development Studies, and World Development.
