Our Team in Berlin
Berlin Network of Labour Market Research
The Berlin Network of Labour Market Research (BeNA) was founded in 2004 by young labour researchers from Berlin as a forum for the discussion and development of research projects, following an initiative by its current president elect Michael Kvasnicka.
At present, the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), the Humboldt University Berlin (HU Berlin), the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin), the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (RWI, Berlin Office), and the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB) are actively participating. Members of the network, however, also come from other research institutions located in and outside Berlin, as well as from the federal ministries.
The main activity of BeNA ist the weekly Leibniz Seminar on Labour Research, in which both members of the network and outstanding young researchers from other parts of Germany or from abroad present their research. The Leibniz Seminar is the most important labour seminar in Berlin and one of the leading labour seminars in Germany. Since 2008, it is supported by the Leibniz Association. BeNA also organizes annual lecture series with internationally-renowned economists.
The Leibniz Seminar and the BeNA Lecture Series are open to everybody with an interest in labor research.
