Labor Markets, Education, Population

Overview
The research unit "Labor Markets, Education, Population" works in three related fields. The first is labor economics and labor market policy. Here, the evaluation of labor market policy measures and economic institutions, e.g., the minimum wage, as well as the effects of exogenous factors, especially technological change, take centre stage.
In the field of population economics, the research group “Migration and Integration” investigates several issues in the economics of migration: It primarily examines the determinants of migrants' integration as well as the effects of (forced) migration on destination countries. In addition, topics in the field of population economics include family and regional economics. In the field of education economics, higher education is examined, in addition to the evaluation of educational reforms, vocational training (university studies, dual training, lifelong learning) and the influence of education on labor market success.
