Prof. Dr. Harald Tauchmann

Harald Tauchmann is professor of health economics at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. As an associated researcher he works at the RWI research department Health Economics. Harald Tauchmann studied economics, political science and sociology at Heidelberg University and the University of Manchester, UK. After graduating in 1998, he worked as a research assistant at the Interdisciplinary Institute of Environment Economics (University of Heidelberg), where he completed his doctoral degree in 2003. Harald Tauchmann was a research assistant at the RWI in Essen from 2003 to 2012, before he became head of a junior research group at the National Research Center for Health Economics (CINCH, University of Duisburg-Essen).

Professor Tauchmann’s research focuses on applied econometrics and empirical health economics, with particular emphasis on issues related to choosing a health insurance provider, competition among health insurance providers and individual health-related behavior.
