Dr. Philipp Breidenbach
Deputy Head, “FDZ Ruhr”; Researcher

Since 2015 Philipp Breidenbach has been deputy head of the Research Data Center Ruhr at RWI Essen (FDZ Ruhr), from 2015 to 2016 he was head of FDZ Ruhr as stand in for parental leave. He is also a researcher at the “Macroeconomic and Public Finance” department. Before he took over the position at FDZ Ruhr he also worked as Assistant to the Board of Directors at the RWI. In his dissertation, supervised by Prof. Christoph M. Schmidt, he evaluated the effects of public infrastructure investments on the alleviation of regional disparities.
At RWI, he is also responsible for the microsimulation models of taxes, analyzing revenue-, distribution- and burden-effects for different types of taxes. He studied economics at the Ruhr University Bochum focusing on econometrics, tax and accounting.
